Part II // Benah & Arnsdorf AW12
BENAH
Title/ LIMITS
Inspiration/ Exploration of ‘What is human?’ and the future – ‘When did the future switch from being a promise, to being a threat?’ – Chuck Palahniuk
Style/ Introduces patent, textured (croc print, hex) and holographic leather with new hardware finishes such as gunmetal. The colours are perfect for the coming winter (far away) from bordeaux (like red wine), deep ocean blues and silver with pistachio in the mix. We love the large zip wallets that double as a clutch and that layered coloured scarf MARLIN, …. Oh and the snoods are back..

ARNSDORF
Title/ 1979
Inspiration/ Jade explores everything about the year 1979, when she was born (and me!)
Style/ Clean blue denim, Floral print in pink and navy, metallic bronze, an amazing Kimono Cape that is reversible, two way short trench and jumpsuits.
I took some photos of my favourite looks the look book which was photographed by talented Maya Villigier (Turnedout.tv) and Styled by super styler Stevie Dance. Ann Kelly is just so beautiful in these shots – so free and genuine… Sometimes I wish I was in my 20s, in 1979 – I know just how much fun my parents had (my dad even had a stylist!).

OUTERWEAR // TOP 4

Our Top 4 picks from our Sale – we love the idea of layering the Military Jacket by Bodkin over the Cardi from Lauren Manoogian – whatever the season these amazing pieces can work with your everyday style. Made from natural fibres they wear beautifully.

Arnsdorf Showroom Visit
Today we had our showing with the Arnsdorf girls and on top of what we saw at the show their were all these hidden treasures…..linen skirts with contrast sculptural stitching (black with gold, natural with neon pink, white with mint green), shift dresses in dark navy & black (the combination I love) with panels in silk, mesh and linen. Then there was the dip dyed silk, that Jade herself created. I also got a peek at the lookbook and it is beautiful and strong..Can not wait to show you all.

RAFW Day 1: Arnsdorf SS12 ‘ The Circle’
Arnsdorf SS12 Collection – styled by the talented Stevie Dance of Russh. For this collection Jade’s initial inspiration came from Liza Lou’s beaded artwork………..colours from white to mint to hot pink, to pastels and soft silhouettes with stronger lines using linen fabrication – some pieces with a sportwear sensibility. So chic and fresh – pieces to keep in your wardrobe forever yet still with the capacity to generate interest everytime you wear them. We saw a wide leg halter onesie, palazzo pants, long sheer silk shirts, cute linen shorts, oversized linen cloaks and so much more…
Love whatever Jade delivers….just can’t help it!
Little trick to the styling of the 3rd last look - – it is actually two long shirt dresses, one in mint tied at the waist and the other with the top showing in hot pink – so clever, Stevie.

Arnsdorf / TREMORS FW11

Arnsdorf’s FW11 collection, ‘TREMORS’ // Jade , now designing out of her studio in New York, draws upon the visual and physical affects of the Icelandic Volcano – Eyjafjallajokull (this is no spelling mistake…). From the palette of blue, mauve and tangerine that comes during the electrifying eruption to the black, grey and white clouds of ash to follow – this transition is captured through colour and in the form of texture and weight in fabric, from wool and cashmere to light silk georgette. Our colour selection from this collection // Navy, Nude, Rose, Cool Grey, Brass, Black, Mauve, Electric blue and Tangerine // First Drop >> February 2011 / available soon for pre order.

ARNSDORF / Designer Jade Sarita Arnott & New York

A look into the new world for Arnsdorf’s designer Jade Sarita Arnott, who picked up and moved to New York (East Village) this year – Page’s takes you through her adventures so far and where she loves to go ( double tick for Freemans – our absolute favourite haunt in the LES ). Arnsdorf’s new collection will arrive in Feb/Mar 2010 – our selection will be up soon…. (the two tone shirt and pants above are our number one pick).

arnsdorf / OPTICKS

First drop of our Arnsdorf Opticks selection / fabric is soft and unlike conventional canvas with beautifully finished pieces that are bound to stay in your wardrobe for many years. Much of the collection is trans-seasonal – versatility is obvious – definitely puts a smile on our faces…the Quartz Skirt or Trouser with a white Kain tee is simple and chic.
