In the new year we are expecting our first drop of the New York based eyewear label, Illesteva - Daniel and Jus, the duo behind the label thrive on pushing the boundaries of conventional design through material and shapes. Manufactured in France, Italy and Germany to bring us luxury high-quality eyewear that feels so personalised. They are timeless, chic and utterly cool. Frieda, Leonard, Franklin and Evelyn are the 4 shapes in a multiple of colour/patterns – arrival this January.
Image above was taken in Milan by The Sartorialist – both girls wearing Illesteva shades.
A gentleman style loafer is our essential shoe, season in and out – Dieppa Restrepo get it just right, the shape, contrast natural sole and a endless selection of colours and textured leathers. This season we opted for Leopard nubuck (soft matte leather), Patent black with Kazan black (pebbled texture), Ruby woven metallic and a season favourite Patent Durazno (Peach).
Having received a glass candle by the first known (1800s) candle markers in France and knowing the quality and fragrance, we wanted to bring to you a local Candle Maker, someone closer to home. Curio Noir, by Tiffany Jeans, from New Zealand – glass is hand blown in New Zealand (each candle is utterly unique) and then the candle wax hand poured, made from 100% botanical wax (which is biodegradable) – the ingredients and perfume sourced from the highest of quality suppliers including France. What is even more beautiful is that once the candle has ended (lasting 65+ hours) the shape of the glass allows for continued use as a vase for your flowers…. imagine white peonies offset against the coloured glass.
A Curio Glass is my idea of a thoughtful gift – it is a reminder of the authentic friendship and love that you share with the person that gave it to you, every single time you light that candle.
‘for those with a fascination for the interesting and uncommon.’ – Curio Noir

Two showings later and all of Christopher Esber’s looks for AW12 are still on our minds. It is everything we want to be wearing next season. From cashmere oversized sweaters to detail-filled crisp shirting and two-textured T-shirts and a sporty grey marle sweatshirt to add into the mix- pieces to keep in our wardrobe forever. It is tough but feminine and cool – versatile enough that we can interpret it as we like.
