Met up with the girls from Therese Rawsthorne for our showing, at a beautiful white terrace in Surry Hills on Friday night (2 weeks ago – late post, I know). The setting was a perfect finish to the runway show that week. The lovely and passionate Margot took me through the entire range while we shared a glass of red wine… x
Hannah-Rose, the wonderful blogger behind Capture The Castle (up on our Bloglovin list) creates, what we like to call, a ’Capsule” collection using pieces from our store… …Monday to Friday looks just for you..We are flattered…xx
Attended Gary’s show last night and this time left my camera at the studio which was a real shame. The runway setup created distance for the models to zigzag through, showing off beautifully made creations. Gary clearly knows how to accent the right parts of the female body - each piece was cut and draped to flatter the female form. The colours of aqua, washed grey, burnt orange, tomato red and shades of blue were so fresh – the striped print is bold and simple yet affective. This collection is definitely sexier which we love – each piece allows room for the right amount of wearer interpretation.
Gary is such a sweet and down-to-earth guy, you can really see it come across in his collections – fluid and honest.
These are just a few of the looks we want to wear.
This striped shirt will look perfect with a pair of tattered blue jeans…..and this leather peep-a-boo skirt with a white tee.
The colour of these leather shorts!
A look we love – wide leg pants and a sweater – colour block..
Today we had our showing with the Arnsdorf girls and on top of what we saw at the show their were all these hidden treasures…..linen skirts with contrast sculptural stitching (black with gold, natural with neon pink, white with mint green), shift dresses in dark navy & black (the combination I love) with panels in silk, mesh and linen. Then there was the dip dyed silk, that Jade herself created. I also got a peek at the lookbook and it is beautiful and strong..Can not wait to show you all.
Despite living only 5 minutes away from the Carriage Works, I still managed to be late…..but I didn’t miss the show (never would!). Like last year, the show was off-site and for good reason. Therese seems to select the perfect space to create an atmosphere and mood that enhances the presence of the collection on the runway- this year the underlying inspiration was the characters of Twin Peaks – with drum lights, clusters of bare-leaf branches positioned down the runway and white neon strobe lights at the start. The hair and makeup of the models was so beautiful with a somewhat oriental feel and a splash of rock star attitude. The pieces were fluid and light with lots of silk in tangerine, peach, white, black and a fresh (perfect summer) print. Pants came printed, cropped, wide and sheer – loved all of them!.
Arnsdorf SS12 Collection – styled by the talented Stevie Dance of Russh. For this collection Jade’s initial inspiration came from Liza Lou’s beaded artwork………..colours from white to mint to hot pink, to pastels and soft silhouettes with stronger lines using linen fabrication – some pieces with a sportwear sensibility. So chic and fresh – pieces to keep in your wardrobe forever yet still with the capacity to generate interest everytime you wear them. We saw a wide leg halter onesie, palazzo pants, long sheer silk shirts, cute linen shorts, oversized linen cloaks and so much more…
Love whatever Jade delivers….just can’t help it!
Little trick to the styling of the 3rd last look - – it is actually two long shirt dresses, one in mint tied at the waist and the other with the top showing in hot pink – so clever, Stevie.
