CONCEPT. The MC Team envisioned a central area within the space as a gathering spot, cultivating a relaxed environment with objects and furniture pieces reflective of My Chameleon. New and vintage pieces were sort to capture this paired-back and subtle richness. Clothing and accessories were placed on the perimeter of the room using metal and marble railings and wooden white pillars. Pieces were displayed and ordered with an 'occasion' in mind - Eveningwear, Vacation dressing, Loungwear, Winter outerwear, Work attire, and the Everyday while beauty and objects appeared on a long wooden plinth to allow for sampling. “The idea was for the space to feel un-designed, unique and refined, more like an eclectic living room than a showroom, achieved through a mix of colours, textures, styles and periods” explains McCarthy. In Residence was located in La Porte Space, a luxury creative hub in the heart of industrial Sydney. The area featuring concrete polished floors, white walls, industrial high ceilings and sheer curtains to soften the rectangular space.
